Clos d’en Ferran

Origins

This Clos d’en Ferran is located in the village of Porrera, close to Barcelona in Catalunya. It is a plot with soil is rich in Devonian slate. This is the oldest rock found within the Priorat DOQ (400 million years old).

The rock contains a high level of quartz and other minerals, with a covering of oxides lending it its red or yellowish appearance. Its colour is mainly close to black or dark grey. Its is a north-facing plot, cool climate, in high altitude between 600-650 meters above the sea level planted in 2007.

The grapes are slow to ripen. Wines from this plot have aromas of iron, cherries and berries. Finesse and elegance set them apart from the rest.
